Roman and middle eastern influences blended with a rich bounty of local traditions and produce. A climate perfect for so many herbs and spices to flourish. It blends into a harmonious cacophony of savory depth and bright freshness of flavors and aromas unique to her varied and rocky shores.

Our Greek spice blend harnesses the stronger savoriness, the umami of Greek cuisine. It is a deep, layered spice that starts with a solid toasted earthy deliciousness with a comforting herbal, almost evergreen notes. A pungent, bordering on bitter pepperiness and a minty cooling undercurrent swim in the background. This blend will finish with a spicy, woodsy, and comforting warmth and a hint of lemon that lingers on the palette.

Our greek herbal blend harnesses the fresh and lighter side of greek cuisine. The blend starts with a sweet floral woodiness with mild fruit and botanical notes that create a deep yet youthful umami. Minty-rye-like note blends with soft licorice that play in the background. It will finish with a slightly bitter, citrus flavor partnered with intense lemon and oregano aromatics.

We do our level best to source ingredients from the region for our blends.  We use the finest dried peppers from Mexico and the American Southwest and imported true Mexican Oregano because we know there is a difference.

We don’t substitute for cheaper or easier to find ingredients

Athenian Spice Ingredients: Cinnamon, Salt, Garlic, Black pepper, nutmeg, Onion powder, thyme, Lemon myrtle, and Diatomaceous Earth (as a natural anti-caking agent)
